The new person has begun working at Easton Pond Chiropractic! I like her and I believe she will be the best one we have had come aboard! She is great! I expect to learn alot from her as she learns the job. 🙂

Be darned sure what you want when you wish!

For 6 months I struggled to teach the “new person” how to do my job. I was met with some of the most amazing retorts to my gentle style of teaching.

I liked this person. What I didn’t like was that she had very little desire … no desire, actually … to learn the job. “Too confusing. Doesn’t ‘flow’. Wish I were that kind of person.” “You are so good at that! You should be the one that always does that!” “We should have one person in charge of certian things. I’m not saying YOU should be that person, but you do it so well …”

She was so clever with her compliments and avoidance.

Around six months I gave up trying to help her learn. At that point I just became annoyed when she would not follow my instructions. I would leave tasks for her that she should have been able to handle after being at the job for 6 months. On my next shift I would find she had not completed them or had not completed them accurately. As accuracy is pretty basic in a business office that handles billing, I was continually appalled.

I began to wish she would find another job. ( I knew my boss would never fire her.) I put that wish out into the atmosphere.

One and one half months later she has another job. Her last day was Friday. 🙂

But Cheech-chee! I didn’t do nothing!

Now, of course, I will have to put in a bunch of extra hours to train a new person. But, hey! It will be worth it. I hope our next ‘new’ person has desire to do a job well. Guess I’ll put that out in the atmosphere.

Monday, Jan 9, 2006 Will You Serve?

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

I wanted to actually serve as a juror on a case.
I was called to serve at a very bad time for my office. 🙂
But I went to the court house on the designated day.(1/9/06)… At this point, hoping I would not be picked for a case.
When I arrived I was told I was a day earily. Hmmmmm.
After some phone calls and a bit of rangling I got out of jury duty.
That Monday happened to be a beautiful January day. Warm, no wind, plenty of sunshine. A great day to find yourself with an unplanned day off. Hersh and I took a long walk.
Later, I worked on making my creative work space less …. ‘random’ (so to speak). And I took care of some projects that had been hanging.
This morning’s paper said they were selecting a jury for Richard Hatch’s tax evasion trial. That would have been sweet.

Wit? Wisdom? Just interesting? Not even! LOL
