Whale Tail Triathlon

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

And now the Tale.

Swim,  Bike,  Run.

Josh,  Bill,  Tina.

The event was held in New Bedford,  MA

First you park your bike.

Then you get your numbers painted on.

Then Jules shows up. 🙂

More spectators arrive to cheer on Josh, Tina and Gramps.

The participants are ready for the event.

Well, almost.

It is back to the transition area to prep your clothes and bikes for a quick change from swim gear to riding gear to running gear.

And they are OFF!

The swimming out of the way!

Josh is out of the water first.

Followed by Tina.

Then our Gramps!

Hooray!

Fidgety widgets.

More fidgety stuff.

Off the swimmers  go to their bikes and three times around the loop.

And the photo finish!

Waiting for Gramps.

Here he comes … with his posse.

Ta- Da!

Great finish!

Fun Filled Week

Monday, July 26th, 2010

With the week end came more visitors.

To get a bit of quiet time, the parents employed the trusty portable DVD player.

We added the VT family and the NH family to the GA family on the week end.

Somehow they all found a space to catch a good nights rest.

By Wednesday, Kaison and his Mom returned to NH and  Jack W joined the grand kid bunch.

It seems the “Grammie read a story” method of gaining quiet time is not nearly as effective as that trusty portable DVD player!

Even Tina had trouble capturing every one’s attention. 🙂

The most fun was the pool area.

The Kids’ Table.

Diana brought home some “arts and crafts” for creative fun.

Second Beach was calling again on Thursday.

The weather was fabulous!

Time to pack it up,  Jack.

We  picked up clams on the way home and Tina made her wonderful chowder.

More arts and crafts.

More DVDs

That gets us to the Triathlon.

Selections from the Lund Girls’ Visit

What is a visit to  Gramps & Grammies’ without a trip to the water to throw rocks?

Gramps helps Kaison find the right stone for tossing in the river.

Kaison at the wheel.

Time to cool off.

Quiet time with Gramps.

Keeping cool in the “reading pool”.

Now a trip to Second Beach.

But we got rained out! ! ! ! !

Thunder , lightening, the works!

The VT group was expected on Monday.

A Trip to Bean Town

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

One of the goals  Kate and Pat had on their trip north was to visit Auntie’s new apartment.

Auntie has just moved in and is in the process of decorating.  One of her purchases was a new couch.  She really didn’t have room for a couch in her last ‘digs’ and she really wanted a leather couch.  And here it is!

Ted and I fit nicely.

What you can see off to the left behind the butterfly chair is the kitchen window.  It is a very cute place.  Auntie is enjoying the process of furnishing it.

Waiting for the T.

One of Pat’s goals for the trip to Bean Town was to visit the Prudential.

Now, when a guy travels that far … well, he should get a chance to see all of Boston!

And what a great view.

Up above the world so high.

We had a great visit with Auntie in Boston.  For more photos of our trip check out https://aftervictory.com/

Here are “the boys” enjoying the parade on the 5th.

Maybe we should get ear plugs for next year.
