Kendyl is growing up so fast.  (Or so her Northern grand parents think.)

Bill and I packed up and headed to GA to help celebrate Kendyl’s 8th birthday.

Here are some of the highlights.

Thursday

Karate class

followed by a scrumptious dinner at the Mexican restaurant.

Friday was the circus!  What a fun time.

Saturday

Then “prep” for the main event, the Birthday Party.

Then off to the stables.

Kendyl selects “Stormy” as her steed.

Jase ready for a ride around the ring.

Great party!

Here comes the cake.

Sunday

Bill and I had to depart . The kids came to the airport to see us off.

I had to head home.

Bill, on the other hand,  headed to Yellowstone for some snowmobiling!

Christmas/New Year 2011 in VT

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

We think we have found the perfect tradition (2 years in a row) for the holidays.

Christmas Eve and morning in Portsmouth and New Years in VT.

On New Years Day they hold a 5 K run in Burlington called “The First Run”.

Tina has asked Dad to participate with her.  So it makes a perfect time to celebrate Christmas and New Year with the families from the North. 🙂

We pack up Great Gram Lund and head north for  lots of fun visiting,

learning new games,

and great food.

We also find some things “Santa” left in in his bag.

A really fun week end !

Happy New Year !

Merry Christmas

Thanksgiving 2010

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Jan, Leah, and Cory invited us to their home for dinner this year.

So we packed up the baby and the old lady and headed north. 🙂

Actually, Kim and Anne packed up the “baby” and we picked up GG. 🙂

It was a pleasant day … no snow! or rain, and the company was delightful.  It had been quite some time since we had seen Emily.  Alex said he and Carol had not seen Jack since GG’s 90th birthday party!  It was nice to get caught up with everyone.

The turkey was especially tasty.  Jan thinks it is “letting it sit for an hour before carving” that lets the molecules ….? something about commingling or something.   LOL

We believed her.  She taught science at Lowell High School.

Someone let Jack take some photos with my camera.  I’ve got to admit, at 3 he takes some pretty good snaps!

Here he has captured his beautiful “Auntie”.

After the main course some of us hopped up and took care of the first round of dishes. (Not me!  I got up when they were nearly done and took photos. 🙂 )

The Patriots were playing Detroit during dinner. 🙁

But the fans were good about dashing to the TV room when there was a lag in the dinner presentations.

Some fans didn’t want to cooperate for the photos!

At last it was time for dessert!  Jack had helped his Moms bake a cranberry raisin pie for GG.  Auntie Jan thought that merritted some praise.

For dessert we were offered apple pie, chocolate cheese cake, cranberry raisin pie, pecan pie, and pumpkin cheese cake.

The Covell-Barretts do love a good dessert. 🙂

It was a great day.  The Turkey did it’s job. 😉

Then it was time to go home.

GG gives Jack a ride on her “red Cadillac”.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
